About me

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Raquel McNamee, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO, with a specialization in Art Therapy.

From me you can expect authenticity, humour, warmth, and professionalism. In our relationship, I aim to ensure you feel safe to take risks, rest when you need to, ask for help, and most importantly, feel like the expert of your experiences. I see myself as the guide on your path towards your therapeutic goals and the work as a journey we take side-by-side.

I can help with:

  • Navigating Neurodivergent experiences (e.g., ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities etc.)

  • Emotional regulation & coping skills

  • Personal identity and self-esteem

  • Women’s mental health & life transitions (e.g., Perinatal and Postpartum stages)

  • Youth & Adolescent Mental Health

  • Family dynamics and relational patterns

What is Art Therapy?

I’m so glad you asked. Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which art-making and creative expression help you tell your stories, understand your experiences, and process your emotions where words are sometimes challenging. The process, use of colour, shape, and form as well as material choices, become a space for the exploration of your world in combination with conversation.

Instead of me asking you directly about your life, with the art I can make notice of symbolism, colour choices, and energy of your work to inquire and spark conversation with you about what you are depicting in the work. Pretty cool right? Most clients I’ve had think so.

NO artistic skill, training, or experience required, simply you and your presence.
